Your wedding day should be a magical experience, it should be the fairytale you have been dreaming of and planning for, and it can be if you get things right in the planning stages.

There are many aspects to a wedding day; the brides dress, the guys suits, the cake, the wedding breakfast, the evening reception, the flowers, the cars and the photographs to name but a few. And every couple have their own set of priorities.

For some couples, providing family and friends with a lavish banquet will be paramount. For some brides they have to have the most amazing dress ever designed. For some having an action packed evening party is the most important thing.

If you've always dreamed of a fairytale horse and carriage arrival then you know this will cost a little more than Dad bringing you in the family car. A stately home such as Weston Park will be more expensive than the local community centre. Champagne for the toast will cost more than Lambrini.

If the transport is not a high priority for you, get Dad to drive you and save some money. If the reception is not important, save money and use the village hall. If you don't care about the Champagne toast, get cheap bubbly.

The same applies to your photography. If the photographs are not high priority for you then look to one of the less sought after photographers and save some money, or maybe ask a family member to take some pictures for you.
